Tip: Excursion to Camp Twilhaar

As part of the celebration of 80 years of liberation, special excursions to the former Twilhaar State Labor Camp are being organized in late April and early May. During World War II, this place was used as a Jewish labor camp. During the excursions, expert guides tell about the history of the camp and the people who stayed there. Participants walk from Staatsbosbeheer Outdoor Center to the spot where Twilhaar stood and get a picture of the hard life in the camp and the impact of the war on the region. Every year on May 4, a memorial service is held at the Holten Canadian Cemetery. Here we remember the 1394 soldiers who are buried here, because they have given their lives for our freedom during the Second World War. As part of the celebration of 80 years of liberation, special excursions to the former Twilhaar State Labor Camp are being organized in late April and early May. During World War II, this place was used as a Jewish labor camp. During the excursions, expert guides tell about the history of the camp and the people who stayed there. Participants walk from Staatsbosbeheer Outdoor Center to the spot where Twilhaar stood and get a picture of the hard life in the camp and the impact of the war on the region. By driving a large ribbon of more of 230 historic war vehicles along a route through Twente on May 5, 2025, the liberation of 1945 will be remembered and commemorated in the towns involved. Dog Agility and Obedience Course #Doglands

Do you want to learn to work together with your dog? In a playful and accessible way, you can learn to send your dog through a tunnel, over a jump, or between your legs. Canine behavioral therapist Janneke van Ommeren of dog school Aai-pet is coming to our campsite to give a class. The class will be a combination of fun and obedience, but above all lots of fun and cooperation is the goal! All ages and all breeds are welcome, provided your dog has no problems with other dogs. During this graffiti workshop, given by a professional graffiti artist, you will learn to work with various layers of paint and learn how a graffiti work of art is set up from start to finish. After the workshop everybody can take his or her own graffiti work of art with them!

Come along on this special children's canoe trip! Together with the animation team we will make a beautiful trip down the Regge. Would you like to join your child as a companion?
