Deventer

Deventer is a Hanseatic city on the IJssel River and one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands! Stroll through the historic center, past charming alleys and artisan shops. Want to truly get to know the city? Join a guided city walk. A guide will take you to special places and hidden stories.

Deventer also hosts many events that attract visitors from all over the country. For example, Deventer Op Stelten, the Book Market, and the Dickens Festival.

Day trip to Deventer

Deventer is a charming old city with plenty to do. It’s definitely worth a visit during your stay at our campsite near the Sallandse Heuvelrug. In just 45 minutes, you’ll find yourself in the vibrant city center. Enjoy shopping, relaxing on cozy terraces, or taking a stroll along the IJssel River.

    Parkcafé Mees

    Visit Parkcafé Mees on Vogeleiland. Here you’ll find delicious breakfasts, tasty lunches, and a great selection of drinks!

    Deventer city beach

    Soak up the sun at Meadow on the Deventer city beach. Bring a blanket and find a spot on the sunbathing lawn, or relax on the cozy terrace!

    Beer garden

    For local beers, head to DAVO Brewery! In the inviting beer garden and lively café, you can enjoy a great evening.

    At game store Koning Willem, you’ll find every board game you can think of! Try out the games and pick your favorite to play during your stay at our campsite!

 

Accessibility & parking in Deventer

The city center of Deventer is easily accessible by both car and public transport. The train station is located on the edge of the center, just a few minutes' walk from the historic heart of the city. Traveling by car? You can reach Deventer via the A1 in 30 to 40 minutes. Parking is easy, with two parking garages and several parking areas on the outskirts of the center.
