The Reggedal breathes Slow Living

Mölke is located in the heart of the Reggedal, a place where time seems to slow down just a little. Here, the Regge River gently winds its way through the landscape, passing vast fields and forests where you might spot a few curious sheep or wild cattle.

Wander along sandy paths, cycle past Twente’s characteristic hedgerows, or simply pause and watch the sun slowly set behind the heathlands. 🌤️ In August, the blooming purple heather is a breathtaking sight, especially in National Park De Sallandse Heuvelrug near Nijverdal and Hellendoorn, but you'll find beautiful heathlands all across Twente.

The Reggedal, also known as the Reggestreek, is the perfect place to enjoy peace and nature, but there’s also plenty to do for an active holiday. 🌳 So, what will it be? A bike ride, a canoe trip, or just an afternoon of doing nothing? 🚲

This is how you explore the Reggedal ⤵︎

Out and about in Twente: plenty to do in the Reggedal

In the Reggestreek, boredom is simply not an option. Play farmer’s golf, take a covered wagon tour, go horseback riding, try klootschieten (a traditional Dutch sport), pick strawberries, go canoeing, or cast your fishing rod.

Prefer a city trip? In Rijssen, there's a large market every Monday and Saturday, with the Monday morning market being famous for its vast selection of fabrics. Wierden also hosts a lively market every Tuesday. In between, you can enjoy shopping in the charming town centers.

Culture lovers won’t be disappointed either. Visit the Fire Brigade Museum, explore the Rijssens Museum in Castle De Oosterhof, or learn about Twente’s traditional crafts at the Zomp and Clog Museum in Enter.

In short, there’s plenty to do in the Reggestreek, but simply unwinding and soaking up the peaceful nature is just as wonderful! 🙏
